Neurofeedback (also known as EEG biofeedback) is a non-invasive brain training technique that uses real-time data to help your brain learn to regulate itself. Sensors are placed on your scalp to record brainwave activity. That data is then reflected back to your brain through visual animations, sound, or gentle vibration. Your brain notices the feedback and adjusts automatically—shifting into patterns that are more stable, flexible, and balanced. Over time, your brain learns to hold these improved patterns on its own.
Each session is 40–50 minutes, including 30 minutes of brain training and time for discussion.
We recommend 2–3 times per week for 10+ weeks. This frequency helps us track how your brain responds and make adjustments accordingly. Some people notice changes within 1–5 sessions. Most clients see lasting improvements after 20 sessions. Each brain is different, and we adjust the plan as you go.
Neurofeedback can support people of all ages:
Children: attention issues, nightmares, bedwetting, disruptive behavior
Teens: anxiety, depression, substance use, emotion regulation
Adults: stress, emotional regulation, cognitive performance
Older Adults: brain “brightening” and age-related cognitive support
Neurofeedback can also help with trauma, OCD, chronic pain, and migraine relief. It’s a tool for anyone wanting to feel more calm, clear, and in control.
Yes. Neurofeedback creates lasting changes by helping your brain learn new patterns. Once learned, these patterns often hold unless interrupted by major stressors or life changes. Some people choose occasional booster sessions, but many do not need ongoing treatment.
Yes. Nothing is sent into your brain, and no electricity is applied. You may feel tired or calm after sessions, but serious side effects are rare. We monitor your response and never repeat a protocol that isn’t helpful.
Yes, and many clients choose neurofeedback as part of a broader plan with their doctor. Over time, some people reduce or stop medication in consultation with their physician.
Each session is $160. Neurofeedback is not currently covered by OHIP but may be eligible for insurance reimbursement.
